Cindy Lotter was born 1979 and raised in the scenic city, Cape Town South Africa. Art always played a big part in her early life. From a very young age painting and sketching seemed to come naturally to her even automatic. Never having formal training, art always seem to run in her veins as her grandmother was an artist.
As young as 4 years old, she was already drawing on anything she could find. Her parents quickly realized they needed to get her the materials she needed to express herself - and spare their walls and carpets. Growing up she also had a love of photography documenting and capturing beautiful objects , nature and moments in time, whether on camera, paper or canvas.
After school she worked as an art supplies sales-rep and eventually as a graphic designer for many years. In 2001 she moved to Robertson - a quaint town in the Breede River valley - to peruse her art career full time. These beautiful surroundings have inspired her daily for the past 17 years and keeps her creative juices flowing.
She currently works form her home studio as a Graphic designer, Miniaturist and Artist of Oil and watercolor paintings. Not limiting herself to one theme, she enjoys painting a variety of subjects. Realism is her favorite style as she attempts to represent subject matter truthfully. She enjoys sharing her paintings and hopes that they evoke emotion, memories and the imagination of those who view them.
Life is so beautiful and short perhaps capturing these moments through art we can savour them a little longer.Cindy Lötter
